Abstract
The chapter is concerned with the complex topic of virutal agents and explains basic terms and concepts present in the topic - the virtual representation of agents within the virtual world, internal mechanisms of agents and the virtual world it self, perception, decision making mechanisms and representations. The text also focuses on the basic forms of reactive and classical planning, and agent cooperation.
