Abstract
Dental caries is localized pathological process microbial origin of dental hard tissues. It is the most common disease in both primary and permanent dentition.
The aetiology of dental caries is multifactorial, the most important factors are poor oarl hygiene, diet rich in sugars and early microbial colonization of oral cavity of the baby. Dental caries prevention is based on regular tooth brushing, reduction of sweet diet consumption and regular daily use of fluorides (brushing with fluoridated tooth paste).
