Abstract
This lecture was held in the framework of the course "Jewish tradition and customs" at the department of Jewish studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague in March 2, 2010. Students were informed about the social and cultural history of the Jews in the central lands of the Ottoman Empire in the given period.
