Descriptive classes of sets in nonseparable spaces

Abstract

Several attempts to transfer methods of the classical descriptive set theory to study measurability in nonseparable metrizable or more general topological spaces are presented. The results and open problems concerning absolute Souslin metrizable spaces, K-analytic spaces, Cech-analytic spaces and some other natural generalizations of analytic sets are discussed.
