Abstract
The paper is focused on mothers with intellectual disabilities who have been so far neglected in Czech professional literature and intervention. The authors have taken into account both new international conventions on human rights (in the first place the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2006), and current international research results in this area.
They include the opinions of parents of people with intellectual disabilities on the parenthood of their adult children. The possible research directions as well as intervention in this area are discussed in the conclusion.
