The history of conclusion of the Peace Treaty of Trianon was accompanied by several interesting foreign political moments. The first of them is connected with the, finally unrealized, invitation of Budapest to the Paris Peace Conference on the base of the decision of the Supreme Council of the Peace Conference from 30 April and 1 May 1919.
Other significant moment consisted in the temporary effort of London and Rome from the end of February and the beginning of March 1920 to reopen the territorial provisions of the draft Peace Convention with Hungary during Hungary’s presence at the Peace Conference. A very interesting moment in connection with conclusion of peace with Budapest consists also in secret French-Hungarian political talks within temporary pursuit of Quai d’Orsay of a new concept of foreign policy of France against Central Europe, and the related unconventional form of the lettre d’envoi, i.e. of the accompanying diplomatic document to the final wording of the Hungarian Peace Treaty.
